Welcome writer and poet Miles Hitchcock, who comes to us from Perth in Western Australia. Synkroniciti is pleased to feature two of his poems, “Autopilot” and “Arguments.” The first is an open-eyed contemplation of human existence, the second an appeal for harmony and personal growth. Perceptive and delightfully spare in style, these poems encourage the letting go of illusion and nonfunctional notions in order to learn how to be more human.

Miles Hitchcock is a writer, teacher, and musician living in Perth, West Australia, on Noongar land. He lived for 10 years in Kyoto, Japan, where he explored Buddhist and Eastern practices, and his subsequent poetry is influenced by Zen and Taoist aesthetics. His poetry and fiction have been published in Australian literary magazines and print anthologies. His novel The Meeting Ground is currently out on submission.
